Archives For tattoo

I suspect you would have a rather difficult time finding another gaming franchise that people love more than Legend of Zelda.  I have been playing the many Legend of Zelda games my entire life and I still enjoy playing them occasionally.  As much as I love the gameplay, it is the music that has made me fall in love with the games.  Well, while I love the games, some people have a bit more dedication than I do.

Recently, I posted a pretty impressive Legend of Zelda back tattoo featuring the Hylian Shield, Master Sword and Triforce as well as a shoulder / arm tattoo that focused on the Wind Waker Zelda game.  Well, now we have another very impressive back tattoo to add to the collection!

This very impressive Legend of Zelda inspired tattoo was created by Alie K. at Archive tattoos Toronto, ON.  I’d say she did a great job with it!  I am very impressed by how it turned out and I love the use of color.

I love the Legend of Zelda games as much as any Nintendo fanboy but there are limits as to what I will do to show my love for the game.  I draw the line at the Legend of Zelda hat and shirt that I like to wear as well as the Twilight Princess wallet that I carry with me.  However, there are people that are perhaps a bit more dedicated to the franchise than I am and will go to crazy lengths like permanently inking their body to demonstrate their passion.  While I have seen many cool Legend of Zelda tattoos, I don’t think I have ever come across any quite like this.

DeviantART user JMan31337 if the guy that is sporting this awesome Legend of Zelda Hylian Shield, Hylian Sword and Triforce tattoo across his back.  This tattoo took 9 hours of work to create and I think it turned out quite well!

While I may not have the courage to endure that kind of pain to show off my love for the Legend of Zelda games, I solute this guy for doing it.

Event though I have been a huge Legend of Zelda fan all of my life, I have never been able to bring myself to play Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker on the GameCube because of the cartoony style that Nintendo decided to use for that game.  My opinion about that has changed recently and I am now open to playing it but as memory serves my GameCube controller is broken so I will have to pick up another one on Ebay or something.  However, until then, I can appreciate this amazing Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker inspired tattoo!

DeviantART user ShannonRitchie who is apparently a tattoo artist as well, inked this fabulous Legend of Zelda tattoo.  I’d say they are obviously a very skilled tattoo artist so if you are in the area and looking to get something cool like this inked on you, head to Tuff City in the Bronx.

Whoever decided to get this tattoo is a bigger Zelda fan than me as all I do is occasionally wear a Legend of Zelda cap and carry a Twilight Princess wallet.

Perhaps my all time favorite series of video games is the God of War franchise.  I have been playing the original through again lately and I wear a really cool God of War hat everywhere I go to show just how much I love the games inspired by ancient Greek mythology.  Well, judging by this tattoo, there might be an even bigger God of War fan than me!

This incredible and very realistic Kratos tattoo was inked by Australian tattoo artist Benjamin Laukis.  If I was ever in Australia and decided to get a tattoo, I would have this guy give me a God of War tattoo just like this!

Even though I have no desire to ever get a tattoo, I have to admit I am very jealous of whoever got this tattoo.  It is very well done and would definitely strike fear in anybody’s enemies!

Since the young age of 2, I have been playing video games.  While I spent a good bit of my childhood dropping quarters at the local arcade, most of my gaming was done on Nintendo consoles like the NES.  So its pretty safe to say there is a special place in my heart for old Nintendo games like Super Mario Bros (which I still play almost daily 23 years later) and the Legend of Zelda.

While I may have a huge love for old Nintendo games and blog about it on occasion, there is one cool guy that prefers to wear his love for old Nintendo games on his sleeve.  He even went so far as to get a Nintendo tattoo sleeve!

This awesome Nintendo sleeve tattoo belongs to Johan Jonk Stenström.  It was inked by the obviously talented tattoo artist Mina at Hawk and Sparrows and the picture was taken by Lisa.

I don’t know if it is the quality of the tattoo artists where I live or the poor ability of people to pick/design a decent tattoo (maybe both), but the tattoos that I see people sporting around where I live really suck.  Well, most aren’t terrible but in comparison to tattoos like this Batman inspired tattoo below, they make you wonder why they even bothered to get one in the first place.

This amazing tattoo of Batman punching Joker was inked by Josh at City of Ink in Christchurch, New Zealand. The detail on this Batman tattoo is very impressive!  I would say Josh hit a home run when he inked this tattoo!  The guy who also had it inked on his side is clearly a pretty cool dude too!

However, I am curious if the tattoo is black and white or just the photo?

The Borderlands games are great and certainly worthy of making for some great tattoos, but I’m pretty sure this is the first time I have ever seen somebody take the box art from a game and turn it into a tattoo.  That seems to be exactly what one Borderlands fan has done with this amazing Psycho Bandit tattoo!

The clearly talented tattoo artist Dane Grannon is the guy that inked this amazing Borderlands tattoo inspired by the game’s box art.  I am blown away by how the coloring turned out on this Borderlands tattoo.  I think that is probably what makes it so great looking!

If gaming tattoos is what you like, I suggest also checking out the sexy NES controller and Super Mario Bros tattoo I posted a while back.

Good news everyone!  It is a Monday again!  Ok, that sounds more like bad news to me, but if every Monday came with pictures of fantastic Futurama tattoos like the one below, then Mondays might not suck so much!

I’m not sure who the obviously talented person is that inked this impressive full sleeve Futurama tattoo (if you know who did it, please let us know in the comments below so we can give them the credit they deserve), but the arm belongs to Planet Express Employee Lounge forum member TheBjorkDork.  This person is definitely the ultimate Futurama fan!

I love the color in this tattoo!

I can understand people getting tattoos on areas of skin that aren’t that sensitive  like around the shoulders or something but just the thought of getting a tattoo on my feet makes me cringe.  Well, that is exactly where one Super Mario Bros fan got his tattoo!

Ben Hostetler is the person sporting this sweet Koopa Troopa tattoo on their foot.  The tattoo parlor that did this piece of gaming body art was the Atomic Tattoo branch in Tampa, Florida.

Apparently Ben fell in love with Super Mario Bros as a young kid (like myself) and instead of jumping on turtles, now spends his time rehabbing turtles he finds in chlorinated pools while working as a pool technician (not like myself).  Props to Ben on the awesome tattoo and helping out turtles instead of jumping on them!

A NES controller isn’t exactly what you think of when you think of sexy, but I would say this NES controller tattoo with a Super Mario Bros star and 1up mushroom qualifies.  It doesn’t seem to be very often that I see a hip tattoo so that was one of the reasons I decided to post it (besides it being completely geeky and awesome).

Unfortunately, I don’t know who this girl is or who the tattoo artist is that made this NES controller tattoo to give them credit but I would say they both must be some pretty awesome people.
